UNCSA x The Pickle Jar Downtown

Conceptual Design, Brand Activation

Concept

The design is an all-day public event meant to help The Pickle Jar (UNCSA's on-campus eatery) to create a memorable image and widen their following, while also making a space for students at the School of the Arts to do what they do best - put on a show.

Food & Drink Trailer

The beloved Pickle Jar staff have come downtown - serving coffee, tea, pastries, and more to both students and others that pass by. The menu includes many college favorites and the trailer is ordained with trinkets and figurines representing the school's five disciplines.

Open Mic

Next to the trailer is an open stage, with live instruments and a custom-built sign representing the university. The pop-up event features both planned performances and an open mic session later in the evening.

The Pickle Jar

The main attraction of the event is a giant pickle jar that anyone can walk into. Designed to be clear around the window so that people can see inside, it is filled with toys, shirts, tumblers, and other UNCSA merch. Drawing inspiration from the 60s and 70s, when the school originated, the jar has a patterned carpet, vintage light fixtures, and sleek, round shelves. Finally, the 4-foot sign above the entrance lights up with a neon look, making the space even cozier at night.
