Off the Rack Pop-up Store

Conceptual Design, Brand Activation

Concept

The proposed concept is a pop-up store for Off the Rack, an independent clothing retailer specializing in streetwear and selling vintage, often rare, finds from various brands. The store's branding leans heavily into pop culture, with an appreciation for classic films and video games, hip hop, and the city of Winston-Salem. The event is set in a repurposed warehouse (common in Winston-Salem's downtown) and builds on these themes to create a memorable experience and expand the brand's audience.

Buy, Sell, Trade

With two floors of merchandise, guests can come to the event to browse Off the Rack's current collection or bring their own rare pieces to trade in. The store's ability to seek out rare and niche clothing items while involving the community has increased its appeal to locals over the years.

Program Your Fit

The event's main attraction is the ability to design your own outfit. Any combination of clothes from the pop-up store can be inserted into the designated slots, while the interactive screen, designed like an arcade game, is used to take a photograph. The clothes are then combined with the photo to turn the guest into an 8-bit character wearing the outfit, which they can print to take home with them.
