A Crimson Harvest

Art Direction

Task

On this short film, I managed the budget, schedule, and facilitated the production designer's work by managing logistical concerns. The two main sets included a farmhouse and a field, which included a built farmer's market.

Preparation

After a site visit, I made floor plans and elevations of each section of the location that was to be reworked into a set. These allowed the production designer to have a detailed layout to work off of and the set decorator to have clear references for space and placement.

Fabrication

The farmer's market set, set up in an open field, included the fabrication of 8 different booths for farmers selling produce, with crates and handpainted signs. I was heavily involved with this process, figuring out construction details, sourcing materials, leading a team of carpenters in the workshop, and figuring out efficient transportation and setup.

Location Work

Over the course of several days, the house we worked with had several rooms emptied out and reworked with entirely new furniture and dressing.
